Opening of the 28th Tashkent International Tourism Fair “Tourism on the Silk Road”
The Tashkent International Tourism Fair “Tourism on the Silk Road” opened on November 15, 2023 at the National Exhibition Complex “Uzexpocentre”. The fair is organised by the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Tourism Committee, the state unitary enterprise “National PR Centre” and the company “Team & Co Group”.
Uzbekistan Airways JSC became the general partner of TITF-2023, and the site of the National Exhibition Complex “Uzexpocentre” was traditionally chosen as the venue for the exhibition.
The TITF is an annual tourism fair that has been held since 1995 with the support of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO). Every year, the fair brings together hundreds of tourism industry professionals from all over the world and promotes the marketing of Uzbekistan’s tourism products and services on an international level.
The opening ceremony of TITF-2023 with Umid Shadiev, Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Umid Khusanov, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airways, Sherniyazov Abylkasym, President of the Tourism Development Support Fund of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kenan Guluzade, Deputy Chairman of the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan took place in front of more than 1. 500 participants, local as well as international organisations and media representatives, and testified to the importance of this fair for Uzbek tourism.
As part of the fair, a tourism exhibition will be held, where twenty countries, including the Czech Republic, Malaysia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Thailand and many others, fourteen regions of Uzbekistan, tour operators, international hotels, airlines, leading travel and transport companies and online booking systems will be present with their stands.
Fifteen foreign and more than fifty local travel companies for outgoing tourism have also been invited to TITF-2023 as part of a hosted buyer programme.
Accompanying workshops, meetings and discussion forums will enrich the trade fair with a wide-ranging programme.
TITF-2023 has become the most important international event in the field of tourism in Uzbekistan and the whole of Central Asia, uniting joint efforts to promote and strengthen the tourism industry in the region and in international cooperation with many countries and partners.
