A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Chairman of the Committee on Tourism Umid Shadiev, is currently participating in “ITB Berlin” (Internationale Tourismus-Börse Berlin), the world’s largest travel and tourism exhibition. The event, which gathers hotels, travel agencies, tour operators, online platforms, airlines, and other industry experts, is taking place from March 5th to 7th, 2024.
With over 11 thousand representatives from the tourism and related sectors hailing from more than 180 countries, the exhibition is held at the “Messe Berlin” exhibition center in Berlin, each showcasing their unique offerings at their respective stands.
Uzbekistan has organized a national stand showcasing its tourism brand, offering attendees a glimpse into the country’s rich traditions, customs, and cultural heritage.
Participating at the national stand are over 30 Uzbek organizations, including Uzbekistan Airways Joint Stock Company and the Uzbekistan Hoteliers Association. The latter has brought a delegation representing the country’s leading hotels, presenting a diverse range of tourism services and products.
The Uzbek delegation is also engaging in discussions with foreign partners to explore potential cooperation opportunities in the tourism sector. Their aim is to promote Uzbekistan’s tourism potential internationally and boost tourist influx into the country.
The exhibition is set to feature more than 200 panel sessions with over 400 speakers, expecting a visitor count surpassing 160 thousand.
Official statistics show that in 2023, Uzbekistan welcomed 29,608 tourists from Germany.
