On March 19, 2025, a high-level meeting took place at the European Parliament in Brussels between Ms. Giusi Princi, Member of the European Parliament and Chair of the Delegation for Relations with Central Asia, and Ms. Dalya Altuntepe, CEO of nüma tourism.
The focus of the meeting was to explore ways to further deepen cooperation between the European Union and the countries of Central Asia – particularly in the areas of tourism, culture, and sustainable development.
The exchange took place in the context of two upcoming major summits in the region: the EU–Central Asia Summit and the accompanying Climate Summit, both scheduled to be held soon in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. These events reflect the growing strategic relevance of Central Asia to the EU – not only from a geopolitical perspective, but also in terms of cultural cooperation, tourism promotion, and environmental transformation.
During the meeting, mutual interest was expressed in raising the visibility of Uzbekistan within the European Union, particularly in Italy and the southern region of Calabria, as well as in introducing Calabria to audiences and stakeholders in Uzbekistan.
The meeting highlighted a shared commitment to intensifying cultural and economic exchange. Future steps will be taken in close coordination with relevant actors in both Europe and Central Asia.
Our company will actively follow up on the outcomes of this dialogue and remains committed to building sustainable bridges between Europe and Central Asia in the fields of tourism, culture, and international cooperation.
