Hagen\/Tashkent, November 23, 2023<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uzbekistan now has an official tourism representative for the German, Austrian and Swiss markets. Aziz Abdukhakimov, Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change and responsible for tourism, has entrusted Dalya Altuntepe, founder and Managing Director of n\u00fcma in Hagen, with the task of raising awareness of Uzbekistan’s diverse tourism offerings in German-speaking countries, intensifying cooperation with tour operators and travel agencies and supporting them in the product design and marketing of the Central Asian country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minister Aziz Abdukhakimov sees the decision to establish an independent representative office as an important step towards strengthening the country’s presence in German-speaking markets. “Every success has its own secret, for us it’s working with professionals. People who know the market, who understand the German market and the German-speaking countries in particular very well. Ms Altuntepe knows the mentality of our people, she knows our tourism products, she knows the channels we can use to reach German-speaking tourists,” said the minister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dalya Altuntepe is no stranger to the Uzbek tourism business. With her tour operator n\u00fcma GmbH, the tourism expert specialises in cultural tours to Uzbekistan and neighbouring Central Asian countries, has been working closely with Uzbek ministries and diplomatic missions since 2018 and also initiated the DRV Destination Forum, which took place in various cities in Uzbekistan in May this year. “The more I got to know this fascinating country and its hospitable people during my work and my visits, the more I wanted to bring it closer to other people. I am therefore very much looking forward to my new role.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uzbekistan is one of the hidden champions in the global travel industry. The decision in favour of the new agency reflects the great ambitions of the country, which is primarily known for its UNESCO World Heritage Sites along the historic Silk Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

n\u00fcma is available to tour operators, travel agencies and tourism companies with supporting measures for marketing and sales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
